Now that you know that your computer system can boot USB drives, you can start downloading other projects and checking then out.

We will be using FreeDOS on this site a lot, because it is the easiest to transcend to and uses the very popular FAT type file system. Many other operating system can read and write to a FAT file system, but can’t execute the the DOS type files. Windows and linux can read and write FAT type file system  and execute some DOS type files. For the full power of DOS you will have to run pure DOS and not a DOS shell. On this site this means using a USB drive using FreeDOS.

MS-DOS is also available for uses instead of FreeDOS. Open Rufus and select Ms-dos instead of FreeDOS. This is Ms-dos version 7 for window. It will run most all DOS software just fine. But it has dropped the old “FCB file system” used in DOS-1 through to DOS-6 and I would like to be able to demo some of the very old software and games if I want to. So MS-DOS 7 will not be used here for all that many projects. Also MS_DOS is copyrighted and not necessarily free. You can format your USB drive with MS-DOS 7 and the use the “add content”  to add files to you drive. This will work and run fine.

package 1: This is the same one  as found in the “add contents” page. Down load this file call “USB_PDP01.ZIP”

package 2a: Called usb_fun1.zip. Usb_fun.zip is mostly a fun disk that is very user frendly. It has a game directory (folder)with 2 DOS games. (more to be added latter). A thing called Flopper II. This program can run very old programs that only run that only run a floppy drive. It been said flopper II can boot most any operating system that can be put on a floppy disk. Add ON's to this project are in the works.
Download this file call
“usb_fun1.zip” .

package 3: This is a Windows password and Registry Editor. This program can generates new admin./user passwords for most all windows operating systems and allow you access back into your windows. Building the USB drive is supper easy. The USB drive become a linux file system when you boot it up for the first time. then linux program take over. The linux program is a bit criptic for first time users. But if you just only have windows file system one one drive, the default questions and answers is all you may need. I use in the repair of computers with lost password and found it to be highly reliable. Download this file call “passw02.zip”

Next project here. maybe usb_fun2.zip or windows diag?
